Synopsis: With the sudden death of his mother, twenty-year-old Jan's life is turned completely upside down. Has she been lying to him for decades? Was she not his mother after all?

The first traces of his biological parents lead Jan from quiet Bremerhaven to Darmstadt. In the unfamiliar city, events begin to spiral, and the answers he hoped for lead to new questions. Plagued by strange visions, he finds the first clues, and maybe even friends. Together they uncover an experiment covered up decades ago and draw the attention of the wrong people. Hunted from all sides, Jan endangers not only himself and those around him, but also faces an emerging threat that shatters the boundaries of reality.

From script, casting, location scouting and shooting to post-production in picture, sound and music, Anomalie is a Tag & Nacht Media in-house production. Without funding or a broadcaster behind it, a full season of 10 episodes with a total running time of more than 220 minutes was created.

The mystery story is set in Darmstadt and Bremerhaven and was shot over almost 50 days between 2018 and 2019 in Darmstadt, Bremerhaven, Bad Homburg and Dieburg. After its festival premiere at SERIALE 2019, the series was shown internationally at festivals and won several awards, including Best Series more than once. The local premiere had to be cancelled several times due to Covid. Alongside work on another screenplay, preparations are underway for release and continuation.
